Limit Breaks in FF7 Remake work in the same way as FF7. Weiss does appear as a VR simulation fight in the main game after finishing the Intermission DLC, Nero is shown to be utterly devastating, and while the team "wins" the fight, only Yuffie manages to escape, foreshadowing something potentially happening with Sonon and Deepground in the future. Yuffie and Sonon fight Nero after causing havoc throughout the underground lab in search of materia. It is generally thought by the fan base that this means the whispers are or were enforcing the timeline of the original Final Fantasy VII. About the ending - We are led to believe that the whispers we have encountered in the story are arbiters of fate. When it comes to Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Nero and Weiss do not appear in the main game, but Nero does end up being the final boss of the Intermission DLC. There are new questions layered in on top of the original story.
